DANCE INSTRUCTOR
CATHERINE HARRINGTON
Catherine began her dance training at the age of 4
and continued her dance training through high school, where she taught at Floyd
Ward School of Dance and performed with the Roanoke Ballet Theater.
Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, Modern, and Tap filled her days and
ensured her passion for dance would only continue to grow. She went on to
pursue a college education, attending the College of Performing Arts at Radford
University in Virginia, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance,
with a concentration in ballet. She moved to London, England where she
studied dance around the city and got to perform with Twyla Tharps' touring
company. Catherine went on to teach at the Virginia Wirth Dance Studio in
Montana, where she was a director for the studio's 21st Century Dance Company.
She choreographed, staged and directed their performances of the
Nutcracker as well as many other contemporary pieces. Her love of dance
and travel led her to New York City where she continued her training and began
performing with a Russian Theatre. In 2002, she started work in
California with the River City Dance Academy, O'Sullivan's Dance Academy and
performing arts schools in the area. She has achieved award winning
competition choreography, experience in musical theatre and commercial
advertisements. Catherine has a true passion for what she does and has
absolutely loved her dancing & teaching career!
